On September 15, 1954, The famous picture of Marilyn Monroe, laughing as her skirt is blown up by the blast from a subway vent, was photographed during the filming of The Seven Year Itch. During World War II, Monroe worked in a defense plant. She was spotted by a photographer who used her for a pin-up picture. From there she eventually signed with 20th Century Fox.
