On February 13, 1991, a newly discovered manuscript of Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain was authenticated. The manuscript was the first half of the original version, corrected in Twain’s handwriting. A librarian in Los Angeles found it when sorting papers from trunks sent her when an aunt died. Research showed Twain sent it to the librarian’s grandfather, who asked Twain to donate it to the Buffalo & Erie Library, near where Twain lived at one point.
