On February 10, 1957, Laura Ingalls Wilder, author of the best-selling Little House children’s frontier novels died at the age of 90. Born in a log cabin in Wisconsin in 1867, Laura Ingalls and her family moved to Dakota Territory. She married Almanzo Wilder and they had children but only a daughter survived. When she was in her sixties, she began writing stories of her family’s experiences as settlers. Daughter Rose later helped.
