Dodgers and Giants given the OK to Move, May 28, 1957

On May 28, 1957, the National League owners voted unanimously to allow the New York Giants and Brooklyn Dodgers to move to San Francisco and Los Angeles respectively. To gain approval, both teams had to move, and intentions needed to be announced before October 1. West Coast baseball fans were overjoyed, and the people of New York City were heartbroken.
