Hello

I want to introduce myself as a poet and scholar of the arts and humanities. I often surf the web to find out more about the people who are in obscurity in the African American Diaspora history. I enjoyed reading about Valaida here on your site. You added some nuances to her story that are not mentioned in other sites that I had visited (i.e. when she changed the spelling of her name.) I wanted to invite you to my blog. I write poetry about Valaida and other black victims of the Holocaust. I would love for you to get a copy of my book when it is available and dialogue with me, experience some of my writings about Valaida in my book or on my blog. I agree that more people need to know about this exceptional American. Here is just a line form one of my poems about her:

"Lil Louie" was her name
blowing her trumpet was her claim to fame
Everybody loved her except Hitler's regime. . .. There's more it will be in my new book schedule to be released in December, www.ashayspoetrynmusic.com
