Pits were NEVER the nanny dog. This type of misinformation gets people mauled and killed because some people actually believe that a dog bred specifically and selectively to kill other things can be a lap dog. This sort of article is the cause of our current epidemic of deaths by this breed. Stop it !

You are so right…in the early party of this century the breed was favored as a family pet. I know many people today who have loving and good pit bulls, but you are right about the concern about reliability.

The original Pete “Pal” had the circle on the right as pictured with Weezer, the second Petey’s circle was around the left eye (your second photo).
