In reply to Adele Jackson Byrd. I love finding these stories, and the fact that people appreciate them means the world. Thank you for posting! I looked at other sources to see if her cosmetic line is mentioned by name. I couldn't find anything, but since Grace del Marco was the name of the modeling school, I would expect it was some form of that name. She was way ahead of her time, as it has only been in the last 10 years or so that cosmetic companies have addressed the need for makeups of different hues.

I will turn 70 years old this year, and this is the first time I have read of the accomplishments of Mrs. Devore-Mitchell. Thanks to this amazing woman for being a trailblazer in the beauty and art industry. I am curious to know the name of her cosmetic line she developed. I look forward to reading more untold stories or stories I missed about people of color.
