Thank you for posting. I’m glad you liked the story. I took a quick look to see what I could find about Naval ships, but it looks like it’s a story in itself! Pickersgill might have made some, but it turns out Betsy Ross made some of the Navy flags as well. I’m sorry I don’t have a definitive answer for you. Where Pickersgill’s shop was in Baltimore Harbor, I think we could assume that she might have made some of them. The Pickersgill family flag business was big and lasted many years. I apologize for not havine a definitive answer for you!

I’ve seen pictures of American ships flying a flag with a British-type patch on the left upper corner with the red and white stripes was that the primary flag for the Navy ships?
