Yes! You are absolutely right. The film was “The Little Colonel.” Barrymore played her grandfather, the actual colonel. And the film is most famous for the staircase tap number performed by Bill Robinson and Shirley Temple. There are clips from the film on YouTube….I’m sure you’ll enjoy!
