Thank you for posting, and I do wish I could help you. Henry Johnson deserves to be well-remembered! Unfortunately, there are no photographs of his accomplishment. When you read the description of what happened, it’s clear that it was so dark that night that not even Johnson realized what he had managed to do. At dawn’s light, he saw the bodies around where he had been attacked.
This was also World War I when photography would have been tightly controlled. Even if a photo had been taken, chances are good that it would not have been publicly released.

I read your article on WWI African-American War Hero, Henry Johnson. I was wondering if you had access to the color print of his fighting off German soldiers. I am willing to purchase a copy, if available.
