Wow….it sounds like you have several collections there! Im happy to post here, but maybe you can find someone who could help you post items on eBay… I’m sure people would be interested. It just needs to be posted somewhere where people expect to find “stuff.” But I hope this helps.

My father had many 1939 World’s fair memorabilia including Elsie the Cow items. He was in the Insurance business and insured what were known as “house wreckers”. By the time those huge wreckers were called into demolishing a building most small items were gone. My father took a white Oxbow which belonged to Elsie the Cow.
Along with an amazing collection of things that he saved over the years (1600 original biblical Dutch tiles from an early Brooklyn House which came down in the late 1920″s) , he kept Elsie’s OxBow. It resides in my barn in Salem, NY.
I am now 93 and clearing out two or three lifetimes of “STUFF”.

Does anyone remember the lyrics to the song Elsie the cow? A few lines I remember—I’m Elsie the cow, you met me I know in pictures and books and the radio. Elmers a fooler, an old friend of you. and Beulah and Borden are friendly too……. Can anyone finish the song?

to Sondra Swanson, I never have heard about Elsie in a fire. but, I was surprised to meet one of the original artis David Reed. He told me the story of Elsie on her way to a fair when they were in an auto accident & it came to the art dept. that Elsie was dead. They keep saying “what are we going to do” he said it didn’t come to them that they could get another cow, which they did. I do have purses & pictures that Walter Early did. anyone can email me pattywinn@sbcglobal.net

I can’t swear to it but I think that final E in the jingle was something like E is for everything she does to help us grow and learn and play and love (maybe?)…put them all together they spell Elsie, a word that means the world to us. That is what pops in my head when I sing it but no guarantees whether that is right or my mind made it up.
