Very much enjoyed your post about SYBIL LUDINGTON who warned the colonists about the British landing in Connecticut wanting to destroy supplies and possibly sack DANBURY.  Her warning throughout PUTNAM and DUTCHESS counties in New York enabled militiamen to gather in FREDERICKSBURG in an effort to stop them.  As a young boy, we had a cabin in upstate New York near Lake Tibet, in Putnam County which we would visit during the hot summer months.  On Sunday, going to church in Carmel, NY, we would pass the statute of SYBIL LUDINGTON located in front of the courthouse close to St. JAMES&#039;s RC Church. Knew the story of SYBIL&#039;s ride, but not the whole story.  Thanks for posting.
