You might try the World War II Museum in New Orleans. I do not have contact information for the family. It looks as if his granddaughter lived on Long Island 10 years ago, but we don’t even know the name we would be looking for. I often find that family members find articles posted here. A formal teacher from the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD brought this to my attention last year. I want to thank him so much for this Black hidden History. This has been informative and helpful. My Aunt Winifred Daisy Beldon served as one of the first femail coast guard persons. Honored by Former President Clinton before her death.
