Does Your Vote Count?

Does Your Vote Count?

I am often asked whether someone’s vote “really counts because the person lives in a red state [or a blue state]?”

The answer is: “Yes! It does.”

Americans have both the right and the responsibility to go to the polls on Election Day.  There are many local issues to be decided all over the country, not to mention the fate of Congress, so it is very important that we vote.

While the Electoral College makes it less exciting to cast our ballots for president, the wise presidential victor will look at the popular vote to better understand the mood of the country.  To some extent, this should dictate the way he governs.

So please go out and vote, and call and encourage friends and co-workers, too.
